The Learning Enrichment Department at John XXIII College provides additional support to secondary students to realise their full learning potential.
Emphasis is placed on providing literacy and numeracy support across all year levels in small groups, on an individual basis or in mainstream classes. Assistance is also provided to students with special needs in mainstream classes through a team of Education Assistants. Applications for special conditions in tests, assessments and examinations for eligible students are coordinated by this Department.
Students get the opportunity to extend themselves in the annual Tournament of Minds competition in the areas of Language Literature, Maths Engineering, Social Sciences and Applied Technology. This competition is open to schools across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. Participation in this competition is extended to all students at the College in Years 7 - 10.
The Department prides itself on accommodating students when experiencing illness, personal or family hardships, physical or learning difficulties. In support of our College mission, we aim to provide a flexible and welcoming environment to enhance the learning journey and overall development of our students. |
